UKSA’s 4 week Superyacht Crew Training course is designed to meet the growing demand for well-trained professional crew on luxury yachts and superyachts. Ideal for those interested in gaining an entry-level job and working as a deckhand for a season or two on board a yacht without committing to it as a long-term career option.
As a superyacht deckhand you will work hard and play hard. Duties include maintaining the yacht’s hull and deck, and helping with sailing, mooring and tender handling. The superyacht industry relies on the skilled deckhands who keep the world’s most luxurious superyachts looking stunning. UKSA trains crew to a professional standard and prepares them for the realities of the industry. Our Superyacht Crew Training course is 29 days of intense learning, and is the ideal entry route into the industry. It offers the simplest and most effective way to gain entry level employment as a deckhand or crew aboard yachts of all sizes, including the largest superyachts.
This course provides a stepping stone into an industry which offers a wealth of travel opportunities and experiences. You’ll earn a great wage, often with generous tips on top, as well as embracing a fantastic social life. You’ll also travel, visiting the world’s most beautiful destinations. Given the potential pay packets in the industry, you could earn the cost of the course back in wages and tips very quickly.
You must have an ENG1 seafarer medical fitness certificate to work at sea. Apart from this, there are no other pre-requisites as this is an entry-level course.
Included in your course fee is accommodation and food for the six week duration. You also get your training, examinations, logbook, certification and Internet access. You will be taught by industry experts and you will have access to our mentoring service, Industry Guidance sessions, and our careers placement service.
