We offer meaningful, high-value and ethical experiences to volunteers from around the world.

We are currently recruiting for experienced Post Graduate Marine and Terrestrial Research Officers in Tanzania, Madagascar, Cambodia and Fiji.

As a Marine Field Staff Member you will assist in all aspects of the marine research programme, including training international volunteers in survey techniques and species identification, data analysis and report writing. The Research Programme covers the following: subtidal habitat mapping and fish census; intertidal survey; mangrove survey; fisheries programme; and public awareness-raising;

As a Terrestrial field staff member you will assist in all aspects of the terrestrial research programme including training international volunteers in survey techniques and species identification, data analysis and report writing. The Research Programme covers the following: habitat mapping, specific species identification and reange extensions, socio-economic and resource use surveys and baseline biodiversity surveys.

Your main responsibilities will be:
- Daily organisation and supervision of the survey programme;
- Supervision and training of self-funding volunteers and host-country students;
- Preparation of technical reports and publication of results in scientific journals;
- Assist in the collection and processing of accurate field data, including specimen collection, for all survey components;
- Maintaining the programme's scientific resources;

You will need to have:
- Minimum PADI Advanced Open Water qualification on marine sites.
- Experience of data analysis and report-writing
- Excellent written / oral communication and presentation skills
- Administrative and time management skills
- Ability to manage and train junior research assistants
- Demonstrable commitment to conservation
- Resilient and mature, with the ability to work as a team in basic living conditions
- Flexible and conscientious approach
- Ability to motivate others
- Physical fitness
