The Venture Centre are now recruiting 6 volunteer trainee instructors who will be provided with the opportunity to gain a wide range of qualifications and work experience. The positions involve assisting on activity sessions and being actively involved in the running of the centre whilst under the tutelage of experienced and well qualified instructors.
This opportunity could be an important step towards building a successful career in the outdoor industry and is ideal for both those starting their careers and gap year students.
Qualifications successful applicants can hope to gain include:
- BCU 1- 3 star, canoe safety test
- BCU Level 1 kayak/canoe coach (depending upon your experience)
- BCU level 2 trainee kayak/caboe coach
- RLSS Bronze Medallion
- RYA Dinghy Sailing Level 2 and Assistant Instructor
- HSW First Aid Qualifications
- WGL Training
- GNAS Archery leader award,
- Power boat level 2
- SMBLA Trail cycle leader training and assessment
- SPA Training (Subject to pre requisites)
The minimum age for applicants is 18 years old. A selection weekend for the 6 positions available will take place between January 27th and February 2nd 2009. Applicants will not only be provided with a superb training opportunity, the role also includes food, accomodation and an allowance.
