We use outdoor adventurous activities, as part of our personal development programme, to engage Birmingham’s socially excluded young people and we want you to join our team. Activities include: hill walking, climbing and water sports and we want you to help extend it further.
As a Development Tutor in Fairbridge West Midlands you will plan and deliver a range of sessions and courses (including residential). With skills in the outdoors and at least proven relevant experience, you will have at least three, if not more, of the following qualifications:
□ Gorge walking – swift water rescue
□ Orienteering
□ Archery
□ Indoor or outdoor Climbing
□ Walking group leader
□ Mountain Biking
□ Skiing/Snowboarding
□ Powerboating
□ SPA
□ RYA Sailing
□ ML Summer / Winter
□ Level 2 Canoe or Kayak Coach
□ Trail Cycle Leader (or equivalent)
□ Local Cave Leader
□ Mountain/BASP First Aid Cert
The ability to deliver non-outdoor based activities (such as creative or performing arts, sports etc) will be considered in conjunction with the above. You will also have a full clean driving licence, ideally with D1 + E enabling you to drive minibuses with a trailer. Your ability to inspire and relate to our challenging client group, along with your awareness of issues affecting young people, is key.
