As a Development Tutor in Fairbridge in London you will plan and deliver a range of sessions and courses (including cooking and nutrition, sport and fitness, IT, arts, drama) to young people as well as run residential courses.

We use outdoor adventurous activities, as part of our personal development programme, to engage London’s socially excluded young people and we want you to join our team. Activities include: hill walking, climbing and water sports and we want you to extend it further. As one of the most experienced members of the team, you will assist in supervising and developing junior staff, and take responsibility for the equipment and course programming.

With a passion for the outdoors and proven relevant work experience, you will ideally have at least four qualifications in the following areas and a desire to gain more:

- RYA Sailing
- Gorge walking – swift water rescue
- Orienteering
- Archery
- Indoor or outdoor Climbing
- Walking group leader
- Mountain Biking
- Sking/Snowboarding
- Powerboating
- ML Summer / Winter
- Level 2 Canoe or Kayak Coach
- Local Cave Leader
- Mountain/BASP First Aid Cert

You will also have a full clean driving licence, ideally with D1 + E enabling you to drive minibuses with a trailer. Your ability to inspire and relate to our challenging client group, along with your awareness of issues affecting young people, is key.

The starting salary is £22,106 with the potential to rise to £24,029 gross per annum. In addition to this basic salary you will also receive a London weighting allowance of £3,200 gross per annum. Working only Monday - Friday, you will also receive 28 days' holiday (plus bank holidays) rising to 32 days with length of service and employer pension contributions.
