Beyond Adventure is a people focused business that cares for both its staff and customers. We feel that part of our responsibility as an industry leader is to help nurture and support others on their pathway to becoming full time outdoor professionals and to this aim we will regularly employ aspirant instructors during the summer months.

At Beyond Adventure we value all of our staff and their contribution to the Beyond Adventure family and believe in paying fairly and competitively.

We do our best to operate in an environmentally friendly way, by managing our vehicle use well, working with companies that hold similar values to us (Hou canoes who no longer wrap boats in plastic for delivery), recycling where possible and operating our expeditions in a Leave No Trace manner.

Itinerary (subject to learners needs)

Week 1

After meeting up with our team and the others on the course, we will spend a few days out on the water exploring our basic paddling skills in canoe, kayak and stand up paddle boards and creating our individual action plans for the rest of the course. At the end of the week we will do a British Association of Ski Patrollers 2 day Outdoor First Aid Course.

Week 2

Our week will start with a 2 day Royal Lifesaving Society National Water Safety Management Programme. Then 3 days of on water training including both the British Canoeing (BC) SUP module and the BC Foundation Safety and Rescue course.

Week 3

We spend the whole week focusing on moving water in kayak and complete both our BC 3 star White Water Kayak and Whitewater Safety and Rescue courses.

Week 4

Our focus turns to open canoeing with a micro expedition, finishing the week with our BC 3 star Open Canoe.

Week 5

Leadership becomes our focus for week 5 looking in depth at leadership principals and doing our BC Paddlesports Leader Assessment.

As our course draws to a close we will do a BC Moderate Water Leader followed by looking to your future pathway and discussing individual action plans.
