A Typical Day in the Job
A typical day in summer is mostly taken up instructing activities to our wide customer base which
includes schools, Princes Trust, Scouts, Guides and other youth organisations.
Mixed in amongst that will be the day to day tasks such as equipment checks, equipment
maintenance and some general centre tasks including cleaning and general maintenance.
In the winter and spring months, your day is a mix of training, instructing and maintenance tasks
Who are we looking for?
• Be aged 18 years or above
• Have transport - Beaudesert is in Cannock Wood (postcode WS15 4JJ)
• Be willing to train and learn
• Be willing to work hard at times and work long hours particularly in the summer
• Have a DBS check and agree to comply by Beaudesert Outdoor Activity Centre’s
• Be flexible
Instructing activities, Qualifications an advantage but not essential as this role comes with lots of training and National Governing Body qualifications.
What we can offer you
Salary: Competitive, dependant on age and experience
The post can be live in if required for a single person and shared accommodation can be provided
for this if required. We have a 4 bedroom house share on-site with free rent and reasonable bills.
If you live on-site you will be required to be the overnight duty member of staff on a rota basis.
The nature of this post requires evening and weekend work
Salaries are paid by direct transfer on the last day of the month
Contracted hours of work are 30 hours per week annualised

Holiday entitlement: 34 days per year including the Christmas shutdown pro-rata for a 30 hours per
week contract which works out to 27.5 full days
Probationary period: this post is subject to 6 months probationary period

Location Beaudesert Outdoor Activity Centre is in Cannock Wood, Staffordshire. It’s ideally located
next to Cannock Chase where there are opportunities to mountain bike or walk. If you are a climber
the Roaches are around an hour away and the Derbyshire gritstone is just over the hour. There are
plenty of canals to canoe locally.
