The job description
a typical day

The role of the Adventurous Activities Coordinator is a varied and exciting one, and requires great flexibility and adaptability throughout the day. Each day begins with a short Briefing with the rest of the staff team, where the Adventurous Activities Coordinator will ensure that the Activity Staff are organised for the activities that day; trouble shooting any problems that may arise.

The Adventurous Activity Coordinator is a good role model, modelling the delivery of outstanding activities and personal development programmes to groups from a diverse range of backgrounds. He or she will ensure that the rest of the Activity Staff are well trained and competent, and run all sessions in a safe manner using areas and equipment that are well maintained and safe. He or she will actively strive to develop a staff team that is second to none, always delivering excellence.

Back in the office, the Adventurous Activities Coordinator will be responsible for organising inspections, sourcing new equipment, and exploring ways the Centre can develop the site and it’s range of activities. He or she will take the lead in delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and will look at creative and innovative ways to grow and develop the programme. No two days are the same, but each day will be a rewarding one for the right candidate for this role.
