High Adventure stands out from the crowd as we are not a 'bums on seats' operation. Quality of experience really matters to us and this is reflected in our feedback, experienced leaders will often comment: 'This is the best residential we've ever been on', 'We used to go to X and this is so much better'. High adventure is owned by experienced ex teachers and we have used that background to ensure our products exceed the high standards of visiting staff. It's more than simply providing a safe and fun filled activity program, we genuinely go the extra mile. The constant we get in our feedback is always about how professional the staff are and how good they are at their jobs. We put a lot of time, effort and money into ensuring our staff team are among the best out there!

typical day A Typical Day in the Job

There really isn't a typical day, you will of course attend morning meeting but after that you could be on an NGB training course, shadowing an experienced instructor, leading a group of your own, in-house activity training, equipment checks or out getting your caves or climbs in. You will be treated as a respected member of the team and take a full and active part in all aspects of a busy Outdoor Centre.

ideal candidate Who are we looking for?

For the Trainee Instructor Scheme we are really just looking for the right person, don't worry if you don't have the skills or experience as that will come. What we need is enthusiasm, professionalism and the desire to become a professional outdoor practitioner.
The only real requirement is the ability to drive.

our offer What we can offer you

The big benefit of our Trainee Instructor Scheme for candidates is our focus on NGB qualifications. We will push you to get qualified in climbing, caving, canoeing, archery, mountain leader and even your PCV minibus qualification. The other big benefit is that we take time to work on your soft skills so you don't simply have the bit of paper, you know how to translate that into rewarding sessions for your group. Added to this you we become part of a staff team that has the highest standards and will help shape you as an instructor, there is also the fact that you will be with a like minded crowd of people who are striving toward the same goals.
