Bray Lake Watersports is a long standing water sports centre priding ourselves on high quality teaching alongside a club atmosphere with regular members and club sessions. We offer dinghy sailing, windsurfing, paddle sports, winging, foiling and open water swimming.
We have an onsite retail shop and cafe with great coffee.
We aim to move with the trends in the water sports industry adding new activities and courses to our offering.
In 2018 we were voted the top SUP Club in the country and in 2024 we celebrated our 45th birthday.
The job description
Windsurf Instructor: a typical day
Alongside instructing you will work as part of an experienced team, working together to complete centre set up / pack down, equipment maintenance and storing and preparing materials for courses and demo's. You will ensure all equipment is safe and fit for purpose.
You will be instructing our junior and adult courses with the ability to maintain a fun environment whilst delivering a structured course and continuously assessing risk.
You will also assist with general centre duties as requested including greeting customers and liasing with regulars and members to ensure a club environment is maintained.
You will support the centre manager with any centre clean down, equipment maintenance, in addition to lake, building and ground maintenance work as required.
Who are we looking for?
what makes you the ideal candidate
Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
Strong communication skills are essential, the applicant must be able to converse fluently with the centre team and their students.
You must hold the following qualifications,
RYA Start Windsurf Instructor or above
Current First Aid Certificate
RYA Powerboat Level 2
Ideally you will have the following additional qualifications
RYA Dinghy Instructor
BSUPA Instructor Ticket
Paddle UK /BC Paddle Sports Instructor Ticket
A Flexible approach to working hours - willingness to work overtime is a bonus.
Due to the nature of the working environment and the inevitable contact with children, this role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. Applicants for this role must be eligible to work in the UK.
