The Centre offers high quality tuition and access to resources to help you achieve your goals. Our students are chosen by employers in preference to students from other courses! The course leads to qualifications in Kayaking, Canoeing, Stand Up Paddleboarding, Navigation, Climbing, First Aid and Beach Lifeguard. You may also gain hands on experience assisting with group activity sessions during the course and be taught the associated soft skills to facilitate your transition in to a Professionally Qualified Instructor. We employ full time Instructors who provide quality training in all the disciplines included.
Who are we looking for?

* UKCC British Canoeing 1 & 2 Star in Kayaking & Canoeing
* British Canoeing Foundation Safety Rescue Techniques Certificate
* British Canoeing 3 Star Sea Kayaking
* UKCC British Canoeing Level 1 Instructor
* BSUPA Stand Up Paddleboard Instructor Award
* Outdoor First Aid Qualification
* MT Rock Climbing Instructor Award Training
* MT Summer Mountain Leader Training or
* MT Lowland Leader Award Training and Assessment
* RYA Powerboat Level 2 (separate module during the course; additional price)
* PCV D1 Minibus Licence (separate module after the course; additional price)
Additional training is also given in Orienteering, Cycle Trail Group Management, Problem Solving and Team Dynamics, etc. Theory sessions are included on the soft skills (group management, communication skills, presentation skills, interview technique, CV workshop etc.) along with further background information on the associated legislation issues involved.
FUTURE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
We aim to employ a number of successful students following completion of the course and also offer support and guidance for Candidates when seeking employment at other activity centres. Our students are chosen by employers in preference to students from other courses; Employers come to the centre during the course to meet with the students in order to encourage candidates to apply! 90% of our students have MORE THAN one job offer at the end of the course!
There is also an opportunity to extend the course by approx 1 week in order to attain the DVLA PCV Minibus driving qualification (min age 21yrs) at additional fees. This is a highly sought after qualification which often commands additional salary rewards.
There is also the option of an all inclusive course fee which includes course fees, residential option and most of the specialist equipment you'll need for the course (Waterproof Jacket & Trousers, Dry Suit, Buoyancy Aid, Spray Deck, Tow Line, Throw Line, Kayak Helmet, Climbing Harness, Climbing Helmet, Screw Gate Karabiners, Prusik Cords, Sling and Belay Device). The equipment is yours to keep after the course!
