Ocean Elements is a medium sized tour operator, specialising in summer beach activity holidays across 3 beautiful resorts in Greece. We have 3 dedicated beach centres for Sailing and Windsurfing, hosting between 50 and 100 guests which allows us to provide a personal service to our guests and a small team environment for our staff.
A Typical Day in the Job
Purchase ledger – processing invoices through Sage Line 50
Monthly bank reconciliations for 2 bank accounts
Petty cash – posting and reconciliation of approx. 10 petty cash floats
Identify split of invoices/receipts between Greek company and UK company
Regular trips to Lefkas Town (45 min drive) to meet with Greek Accountant to present Greek company receipts/invoices to him
Manage all online banking; supplier payments, taxes, monthly VAT & social charge payments and retrieve statements
To be a user and administrator of till/POS system in vasiliki hotel
Develop existing system for recording local beach/merchandise sales
Weekly cashflow forecasting for funding requirements
Weekly KPIs – Bar sales & margin, beach sales, variable costs (breakfast, linen, cleaning)
Monthly reporting Vs budget for key cost areas (eg beach and hotel expenditure)
Assist UK Head of Accounts with seasonal Greece budget and end of season Management Accounts for the programme
Who are we looking for?
o Minimum AAT Accounting qualification or similar experience
o Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
o Driving licence
o Desirable: Tour operating experience
o Desirable: Sage Accounts 50
