To help grow our reputation as a leading provider of high quality residential activity holidays, at JCA we recognise that our centre staff and instructors are among the most vital parts of our business. As an activity instructor you have daily contact with our guests and it is your dedication and enthusiasm that enable us to deliver such outstanding customer service.
Working as part of a close-knit centre team, you will quickly establish solid friendships, develop many new skills, and boost your future career potential in the outdoor adventure industry. We would love to hear from you no matter whether you are on a gap year before university, or recently left education and are looking to forge a new career as an activity instructor. Many of our instructors stay for more than one season and being part of the Travelopia group, there are plenty of opportunities to move between business as your career with us takes off.
A Typical Day in the Job
With JCA no two days will look the same. You’ll be the leader of the pack for activities such as fencing, archery, high ropes and watersports. You’ll help guests overcome their fears high above the trees on the abseiling tower and aerial trek and help them down on the ground to develop team building skills that will last a lifetime! Keeping your group safe and making sure everyone has the time of their life will be your top priority!
All of this adventure can be hectic but seeing our guests happy and smiling after a day full of activities is why we say this is the most rewarding journey you will ever take.
We’ll give you all of the training, equipment and confidence to step up into your superhero status as well as the chance to continue this exciting career with us in a more senior role.
This role is paid at the National Minimum Wage – (£5.90 – £7.83 per hour dependent on age category).
Our instructors have the chance to live on site (so no boring commute to work!) All of your meals, uniform and training will be included. You’ll live and breathe what it means to be an Outdoor Activity Instructor.
We have a number of adventure centres across the UK:
Mount Cook – Peak District
Croft Farm – Cotswolds
Mill Rythe – Hampshire
Rookesbury Park – Hampshire
If you already live near one of our amazing centres, don’t worry you can live off site!
