Share Discovery Village offers a range of over 30 activities onsite meaning that every day is very different. SHARE works with a range of groups of many different of ages and physical abilities again adding to the variation of the job.
Our staff are fun and energetic wanting guests to have the best experience they can provide.
SHARE is based on the shores of Upper Lough Erne giving no reason why staff can't get out on the water themselves after a hard days work!
A Typical Day in the Job
For the first 6 months Monday - Friday you will be training in all of the activities offered at SHARE this will include, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, mountain biking, pool lifeguard, archery, orienteering, power boating and much more. From month 7 - 12 you will be working with a range of groups at the centre.
Who are we looking for?
No qualifications required! Applicants must be 18 years or older and have an outgoing personality, a keen interest in working with people is essential.
What we can offer you
Share Discovery Village, each year from September to August, run a year long, residential training course for those seeking formal qualifications and work experience in the outdoor industry. A perfect stepping stone into the industry after school, university or a career change, or a chance to develop new skills on a gap year. The Outdoor Course provides a unique learning opportunity.
The Outdoor Course provides trainees with six months of training in a wide range of land, water and arts based activities during which they receive a training allowance of £75 per week. For the latter six months of the course trainees are provided with real work experience where they develop their soft skills such as leadership, communication, interpersonal and decision making abilities. During work experience the training allowance is increased to £125 per week.
The course is a combination of practical tuition, theory, coaching, expedition trips and work experience. Trainees will work with a wide variety of people and gain National Governing Body Qualifications in the following areas; Canoeing, Kayaking, Sailing, Windsurfing, First Aid, Life Saving, Orienteering and many more.
