As an activity instructor you have daily contact with our guests and it is your dedication and enthusiasm that enable us to deliver such outstanding customer service.

Working as part of a close-knit centre team, you will quickly establish solid friendships, develop many new skills, and boost your future career potential in the outdoor adventure industry. We would love to hear from you no matter whether you are on a gap year before university, or recently left education and are looking to forge a new career as an activity instructor. Many of our instructors stay for more than one season and being part of the Travelopia group, there are plenty of opportunities to move between business as your career with us takes off.

Outdoor Activity Instructor - Apprenticeship

typical day A Typical Day in the Job

At JCA, we have over 25 years’ experience in providing fun and educational adventures for school and youth groups. We’re big enough to challenge, small enough to care - You’ll never be just another number. We pride ourselves on having a close working relationship with all of our instructors – So if you’ve got your eye on progressing, we’ll support and help you get there.

With JCA no two days will look the same. You’ll be the leader of the pack for activities such as fencing and archery in the sunshine, final shoot out at the laser quest and helping guests overcome their fears on the abseiling tower and aerial trek high above the trees! Your top priority will be keeping your pack safe, and making sure everyone has the time of their life.

Over the course of 12 months, we’ll give you all of the training, equipment and confidence to step up into your superhero status. At the end of the Apprenticeship you will achieve an industry recognised Trailblazer qualification in Outdoor Activity Leadership – the equivalent of an NVQ level 3. You’ll also be given the chance to continue this exciting career with us and progress to ‘Senior’ status!
