UKSA's RYA Yachtmaster Power Theory, Prep & Exam Course is a comprehensive 14-day programme designed to prepare candidates for the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore or Coastal (Power) Certificate of Competence. The course structure is as follows:
Days 1-7: Yachtmaster Theory ' classroom-based training covering navigation, meteorology, passage planning, and collision regulations.
Days 8-12: Practical Preparation ' five days of intensive on-water coaching, applying theory to practice and developing advanced boat-handling and leadership skills.
Days 13-14: RYA Practical Examination ' assessed by an independent RYA examiner, onsite at UKSA.
Who are we looking for?
the requirements for this course
To be eligible for the Yachtmaster Offshore (Power) examination, you must meet the following criteria:
*Sea time: Minimum of 2,500 nautical miles logged within the last 10 years
*Qualifying passages: At least five passages over 60nm, including two as skipper and two overnight
*Valid RYA First Aid or STCW Elementary First Aid (issued within the last three years)
*A GMDSS-compliant certificate such as the RYA SRC (VHF) licence
