The job description
Outdoor Instructor : a typical day
A typical day involves setting up activity workshop areas in the woodland and the roundhouses. Then following the team brief, to welcome in a school trip and rotate your group around activities from archery to woodland quests. If the school stays on to the evening, you will lead team building games before dinner and leading a bat walk and roasting marshmallows over the fire. If it is a day trip, you will feedback on the team debrief and tidy workshops and prepare for the following day. At weekends and school holidays, you will help set up activities and lead family workshops as well as assisting in The Woodland Bistro.

Qualifications, experience & behaviours required for this role:
- Archery GB / NFAS Leader or equivalent
- A valid first Aid qualification desirable
- 2 years experience working in outdoor education with strong understanding of session planning and risk management in outdoor environments.
-Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet operational and residential trip needs.
- A full UK driving license and own transport as site is in a rural location.
- Ability to self-direct work and to prioritise effectively.
- Personal integrity and ethical decision making; taking responsibility for their actions and consequences.
- Displays resilience, flexibility, adaptability and drive.
