typical day
The job description
Outdoor Activity Instructor: a typical day

Discover your new working adventure in the outdoors with PGL. Don't miss your chance to be part of it!

There is no such thing as a typical day as an Outdoor Activity Instructor at PGL. You will be responsible for delivering activity sessions throughout the day as well as working with groups to engage with them in their free time with games, taking them through meal times, liaising with teachers and generally organising the group throughout their stay.

As an Outdoor Activity Instructor you'll introduce guests to a number of activities and deliver group taster sessions in our core activities, including orienteering, abseiling, climbing, fencing, motorsports, ropes challenge courses, initiative exercises and archery as well as helping to organise and participate in evening entertainments.

One of the best aspects of this job is seeing young people achieve things they thought they never could, and knowing that you had a big part to play in their success. It can be hard work but it's also great fun.

Once your day at work has finished you will get to experience centre life with all centres having their own staff areas and social scene. You will have the freedom to do as much or as little as you want with your free time. It really is what you make of it!

Each of PGL's 16 outdoor activity centres across the UK has plenty to offer whether you are an old hat when it comes to outdoor adventures or if it's your first time in the great outdoors then there will be someone to show you the 'ropes'.
